Roxboro Christian Academy is a private Christian school located in Person County NC. Established in 1976 and is a non-profit, diploma-granting institution operating under the Division of Non-Public   Instruction of North Carol

RCA Buildingina. It is governed by a five-member Board of Directors.

Roxboro Christian Academy offers a quality, Biblically based academic program for children Pre-K through Grade 12. In addition to college preparatory courses, teachers and staff provide support for individual student needs and as well as abilities in fine arts. Athletics, band, technology, journalism and student government are a few of the activities in which students are able to participate.

NCCSA Honor Band 2012 - CopyRoxboro Christian Academy Sends 20 to NCCSA Honor Band

Twenty members of the Roxboro Christian Academy Eagle Concert Band attended the North Carolina Christian School Association’s Honor Band Clinic at Meymandi Concert Hall in Raleigh last weekend.  Meyandi is the home of the North Carolina Symphony.  The three day event culminated with a concert open to the public Saturday at 2:30 PM.  The three tier event hosted music students from three states, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.  Players were chosen through an audition process and placed in one of three bands based on their individual scores.  Roxboro earned four spots in the top (Honor) band, Tim Thaggard tuba, Evan Schallert tuba, Daniel Bowen French horn and Erin Folley clarinet.  Six members of the Eagle band took spots in the second (Symphonic) category, Matthew Fox trumpet, Dallas Jones trumpet, Bethany Gentry flute, Malorie Pickett marimba, Ally Ange clarinet and Malachi Dalton timpani.  Concert band included two first chairs Emily McCullock clarinet and Matthew McCullock  baritone and one second chair Taylor Fortner saxophone as well as Tim West and Chris Smith trombone, Forrest Rouse and CJ Poole saxophone, Kayla Martin and Katie Holder flute and Corey Wilson trumpet. 

Nine members of the band have also been chosen to participate in UNCG Wilmington’s Honor Band which will take place December 6th thru 8th in Wilmington: Tim Thaggard and Evan Schallert tuba, Taylor Fortner saxophone, Daniel Bowen French horn, Matthew Fox trumpet, Erin Folley clarinet, Bethany Gentry flute, Chris Smith trombone, and Malorie Pickett marimba.

The Eagles have a fall concert November 30th which will include music from the Broadway musicals “Wicked”, “The Sound of Music”, and “Phantom of the Opera”, as well as a medley from “The Dark Knight”, and Christmas music from “Home Alone”.

Roxboro Christian Academy varsity girls’ volleyball team has won six of their seven matches this year as members of NCCSA Single A.  The team consists of one senior, Kimberly Anderson; one junior, Erin Folley; eighth graders Bethany Gentry, Kayla Martin, and Taylor Fortner; and seventh grader Jasmine Johnson.  Barbara Anderson serves as coach.

The Junior Varsity has as new players this year fifth grader Amber Pickett, sixth grader Emilie McCullough, and seventh graders Hannah Dalton and Katie Holder.  Veteran ninth grader Alley Ange completes the team.  The girls have played with consistency and spirit under their coach Sonya Hoxie.
